Involvement from schools and colleges is an important aspect to the relevance of Culm Valley FM and the people it will serve. This 28 pilot scheduled for June 2006 needs to explore the ways in which a full time community licence can be used for educational purposes, as well as the benefits it will give people in education. During this pilot we will be building links with educational establishments and providers towards having a full-time training programme that can be linked with current curriculums.

There are many exciting ways Culm Valley FM can already be incorporated into extra curriculum activities this year:

Broadcasting a show

Pre-recording an interview

Performing a radio play

Film or art critique

Playing live music

Teachers and pupils may consider other creative ideas and we fully encourage this.

There is also the technical side of radio that pupils may also like to become involved with:

Rig set up for live music gigs

Assisting the station manager

Sound engineering

General technical tasks
